Why We Make Music
When you are a small child everyone always tells you, “Do what you love! You can do anything.” And then you turn 18. Then the narrative becomes “Did you find a job yet?” There is nothing wrong with this, however, we forget the first thing that loved ones told us. They don’t mean for you to stop writing.
Writing music wasn’t ever meant to be a job. We did it for thousands of years, even if it was on drums or just chanting. Never stop chanting.
Artists all over the world call in to have their song produced and there is a common theme. They want to quit. I don’t think we should quit. I think we should have a balance. If it means that you have to serve in other areas of life to be able to come home and write then do it!
If you choose a job you love you will never have to work a day in your life. This holds true. If you are willing to work until it takes hold. It is possible it never does. So choose two “jobs” you love. Maybe you teach guitar, or maybe you write for others while you create your music. This balance is what you need to make it in music.
I always tell everyone of the Artists I produce. “You already made it! That first song you finish and post for your family to hear. You made it. Because you created something that is going to help someone, inspire them.” I know that you think it should be the biggest song in the world. It very well could be, but that isn’t the reason I ever make a song. The end doesn’t ever have to justify the beginning”
So download a beat from Songwritervault.com and write and record your vocals and send it to us. Maybe you have the A capella with some Piano chords and you send us this. We will finish your song and let it become what you hear in your head.
